Footage of the refining of iron ore in a fairly primitive way; a lot of it done manually. Transfer of iron ore in the harbour of the Hoogovenbedrijf (Blast Furnace Company). - several shots of outpouring of iron in casting sand, heavy smoke production, poor working conditions, 43" - manually tipping over a large melting pot, outpouring iron, 30" - overall shot of melting towers, refining towers, 10" - high overall shot of the offloading of irone ore from inland vessels with grab cranes, 40"- steam crane with electro magnet transports iron ingots, 10"- dumping of the burning iron slags in a railway wagon, heavy fire and smoke production, 24".
