A comedy in which the widow Mary makes a bet with her friends that she can win over a writer named Jack.
A comedy in which the widow Mary makes a bet with her friends that she can win over a writer named Jack. Mary is with her friends at the beach, and comes across the very haughty writer Jack Random and his secretary. She makes a bet that before nightfall, he will be on his knees in front of her. She disguises herself as a widow, knowing that this will arouse Jack’s interest. Yet the friend with whom she makes the bet exposes her plan to the secretary, who in turn tells Jack. Jack disguises his secretary as a sailor, and confronts the mischievous Mary with her “resurrected” husband, and Mary is exposed as a fraud. She pays her friend for losing the bet, but later it turns out that she has won over Jack anyway.
